Introduction

My name is Patricia Lee Zavala and I am from Houston, TX. I am an only child and have two gorgeous golden retrievers, Stacey and Bella. I have attended TAMUCC since 2008 and I am currently a junior. Some interesting facts about me are that I am in a Greek sorority on campus (Delta Delta Delta our philanthropy is St. Jude!), I am an Aloha Days counselor which is a camp for incoming freshman, and my favorite hobbies are working out and dancing which I have done since I was two years old. Since I am an education major, Early childhood through sixth grade, I hope to gain knowledge in what community literacy and service learning actually are and how I can recognize it in my own classroom. I would also like to learn more from the service learning project that we will be doing.
